Day 1
Build your first personal maker page
Build one database-free page. The goal is to complete a first loop of describing, planning, creating, running, and checking.
- Suggested time
- 45-60 minutes
- Completion evidence
- Working page, file notes, and screenshot
Prepare four real pieces of content
These inputs stay in your browser and are not saved. Copy your answers into the work brief yourself.
Send a complete work brief
Do not say only "build me a website." Give Codex the context, boundary, completion criteria, and process.
Work brief
Context:
I am a first-time builder completing the 7-Day Codex Starter. This folder is for a simple personal maker page.
Goal:
Create a single web page that opens locally and needs no database.
Content:
1. My name or nickname: [fill in]
2. A real problem I observed: [fill in]
3. The small project I plan to build: [fill in]
4. A button labeled "View my 16th case"
Allowed changes:
Web files inside the current project folder.
Forbidden changes:
Do not modify anything outside the project folder. Do not add unnecessary dependencies, a database, login, payment, or external services.
Completion criteria:
The page opens locally, all text is present, the button responds, and a mobile-width window has no horizontal scrolling.
Process:
First show a short plan and the files you intend to create. Wait for my approval before modifying files.Approve the plan before editing
Check that the plan does not add a database, account system, complex framework, or files outside the project. Then approve it.
Approval
The plan and file scope match the brief. Please execute this plan. When finished, list the files changed and the exact local viewing steps. Do not add features outside the plan.Open and check the page yourself
Use Codex's exact viewing steps. Do not infer a command from this course and do not treat a chat reply as a working page.
Working page, file notes, and screenshot
Record what judgment you supplied and which files Codex created.
